Janaïna Milheiro

Janaïna's work, exhibited at Premier Vision has stuck in my mind. The collection she displayed there was her 'Feather Thread collection' which she completed for her final collection during her Diploma. I can really appreciate the delicacy and intricacy of each fabric. Working with exceptionally fine silk threads and hundreds of carefully dyed feathers she has created haute couture works of art. Her weave structures are not particularly complex but it is interesting how choice of materials can have such a profound visual impact. Although they do give some king of indication, without the ability to touch and see their sheer intricacy and transparency first hand it is difficult for any photographs to do her work justice.
